Three grades that cover the majority of the workshop

Rather than a catalogue of near-identical products, we hold a focused range of fully synthetic grades that between them cover most modern service work. Every product is low SAPS, so it protects the particulate filter and catalyst as well as the engine.

C2 / C3 · Ultrex

Obsidian 5W-30 C2/C3

The core service fill for modern petrol and diesel engines fitted with a particulate filter. A fully synthetic, ester-enhanced formulation that covers the majority of routine servicing where ACEA C2 or C3 is called for.

Extended drain

Obsidian Longlife 5W-30

For vehicles on variable or extended service intervals, above all the VW Group, where the oil has to hold its performance across a far longer drain than a fixed schedule allows.

Obsidian 0W-30 C2/C3

A lower winter grade with faster flow at cold start and the same protection at operating temperature. For engines where the manufacturer calls for a 0W-30 for cold cranking and fuel economy.
